I dont know if this has been mentioned yet. It looks like Colin Farrell is going to play Chris Sarandons part.

It was mentioned in the post above.

Anyway, I can see Farrell rocking this role.

Dandridge is suave and dangerous and Farrell seems like a perfect choice.

Toni Collette is a great addition. She's a damn good actor.

I have the classic problem with most remakes that any horror fan with an ounce of literary ambition has... I'm not in charge of it. lol.

I'm sitting here thinking... "Fright Night... Ok... stress the 'who are our neighbors really?' angle... Make it plain that, Somehow, just like the original, the characters don't come from a world entrenched in vampire lore like ours... The 'Ah-ha!' moment should be left intact.
Tension... Lots of it... Has to be subtle in the soundtrack, but demanding, and it has to ooze from the corner of the visuals. Above all, vampires are not romantic unless you're being hypnotized by one, this should be horrific for anyone who isn't to look at. In the 80s these were sheep in wolves clothing, not anti-heroes. Don't lose the humor, but don't overplay it either."

                    Blah-blah-blah, ad nauseum.

I think he is going to do a great job. He always does.

On the news comments, I saw a user suggest Matthew Lillard for the role of Evil Ed. Lillard would've make an awesome doube E a while back, but at 40 I feel he's just too old to play the part. Shame really.

This must have a good script.... no cast this good joins a film if it's crap like PD level. Glad to see this is being taken seriously with respect for the original film.

I have an angel on my shoulder, but a devil in my head.

I dont think a remake, good or bad, would do the original any harm, its not got a huge fanbase like ANOES, Halloween or F13th to piss off .

No original film has ever been harmed by its remake.

I agree, I'm a fan of the original and the sequel, but this doesn't have the cult following of some films. Im really excited for this, the casting looks great. But, if they ever remake the Evil Dead films I will lose my shit.
