I remember Surveillance getting good reviews and the plot description for Boxing Helena sounds pretty fucked up.
I disregarded it because of Julian Sands but I recently seen a movie with him in about werewolves from the 1800's and he was pretty good, so I'd check out Boxing Helena if I were you and Jennifer Lynch was very young when she wrote it.

This was a pretty good movie. The performances are excellent and I enjoyed the twist. One that I discovered in the horror draft.

I didn't think much of this at all... I thought the twist at the end was extremely forced and tacked on. It made the film collapse in on itself and ultimately brought it down.

D'Onofrio was the best thing about the movie.

Surveillance is awesome. I loved every second, but the ending is where it's at. Don't look up anything about it, because it would be easy to spoil for yourself if you read too much.

I saw it when it got a special release on some HDTV channel when it was coming out, so I didn't know anything and it turned out to be so good. For me at least.

Solid movie, I liked the contrast between the 'slow' camera work & the low audio versus the (psychological) roughness. Pretty intense to see the little boy alone in the cab and to realize what he was going through. Good choice to experience everything from his point of view, no time wasted on other storylines.

The acting is fine (you dont see that often with child actors) and a great character played by D'Onofrio. The ending was good in my view, despite the fact there are some plot holes (which comes along with the single focus from the boy) I think it all makes sense in the end.

btw I liked Surveillance too, Lynch is not into the nightmarish/mindfuck-thing like her father but both movies got my full attention from beginning to end.

I really liked "Surveillance" too, which of course at this point is a movie almost forgotten, and I think unfairly.. .although one can find certain "errors" or "predictability" is sufficiently compensated for its "flaws" remain hidden behind the feeling of having enjoyed an interesting and macabre thriller that it can claim to be well above the normal average.

Also I really liked that some unhealthy air, which grows as the story progresses.

Man I loved Surveillance and I've had this on my computer for a long time. I may finally watch it tonight.

This was pretty decent. Not a "fun" or "enjoyable" film at all, but dark and disturbing.

I enjoyed this, however it wasn't as good as I hoped. I loved the opening half hour, but then things started to get a little too lost in limbo. It didn't really feel like it was going anywhere. Luckily it picked itself up again in the last half hour. It is full of tension and has great gritty atmosphere. The performances from everyone are good too! I also liked Jennifer's unconventional directing (like her daddy!) and the twist at the end. It was good, but it could've been great!

                      7/10

I thought this film was genuinely disturbing and the ending was surprising. Vincent D'Onofrio's performance was excellent and really has me looking forward to his role as Wilson Fisk in Marvel's upcoming Daredevil series.

Agreed, D'Onofrio is one of my favorite actors and he is terrific in this. I had little interest in the Daredevil series till I heard he would be in it

I grew up seeing D'Onofrio on the TV all the time as my parents were addicted to Law & Order back in the day. Never watched much of him otherwise but his performance in Chained was incredible.

Can't say I like the movie all that much otherwise though. Decent enough watch, but I wish Lynch kept the anxiousness from the first twenty minutes all of the way through. Delved too deep into cliches near the end for me.

Put "2 Fast 2 Furious" in B&W and Se7en thinks he's watching a Bergman film.
I find the Metal Gear Solid series to be mediocre at best.
