Creature Feature ‘Sputnik’ Brings an Alien Back to Earth Inside a Man’s Body [Trailer]
One of the genre films that was set to world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival this month was Egor Abramenko‘s sci-fi monster movie Sputnik, which IFC Midnight will release on VOD in North America on August 14.
We now have a subtitled trailer for the Russian film that looks directly inspired by Ridley Scott’s Alien, only if the Xenomorph made its way back to Earth.
In the film…
“The lone survivor of an enigmatic spaceship incident hasn’t returned back home alone—hiding inside his body is a dangerous creature. His only hope: a doctor who’s ready to do whatever it takes to save her patient.”

When best friends Glen (Stephen Dorff) and Terry (Louis Tripp) stumble across a mysterious crystalline rock in Glen’s backyard, they quickly dig up the newly sodden lawn searching for more precious stones. Instead, they unearth The Gate — an underground chamber of terrifying demonic evil. The teenagers soon understand what evil they’ve released as they are overcome with an assortment of horrific experiences. With fiendish followers invading suburbia, it’s now up to the kids to discover the secret that can lock The Gate forever . . . if it’s not too late.
If you’ve never seen The Gate, it’s now streaming on Prime Video and Tubi.
