Creepy ‘Amulet’ Clip Finds a Woman Rotting in the Attic; Director Romola Garai Talks Slow Burn Horror [Exclusive]

Looking for fresh content to work into your Halloween calendar? Magnet Releasing’s Amulet arrives on DVD and VOD platforms October 20th.

Romola Garai directs the film that follows veteran soldier Tomaz (Alec Scaraneau) as he takes asylum in the house of Magda (Carla Juri), a lonely young woman caring for her sickly mother. As Tomaz begins to grow closer to Magda, he discovers something sinister in the creepy, decaying home.

The film world premiered to critical and audience acclaim in the Midnight section at Sundance. Meagan Navarro reviewed Amulet, writing that it “sleepwalks through philosophical horror until [an] audacious finale.”

In this exclusive clip, Romola Garai and Caryn Coleman, founder of The Future of Film is Female, discuss the film’s “slow burning” storyline and the thought process behind its development.

In addition, we’ve also shared an impactful clip directly from the film in which Tomaz explores the attic of the house and discovers a terrifying old woman who has been rotting away. Watch both below.
