The General Mills Cereal Monsters Remake the “Monster Mash” in Fun New Official Song and Video!

Published

on

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the General Mills Monster Cereals, and as part of the celebration, a special mashup “Monster Mash” cereal is headed to store shelves soon!

Count Chocula, Franken Berry, Boo Berry, and even Yummy Mummy and Fruit Brute (not seen since 2013!) are all joining forces for the mashup cereal, which celebrates the 50th birthday of the line’s launch with the Count Chocula and Franken Berry cereals back in 1971. Boo Berry followed in 1973, with Fruit Brute coming along in 1974 and Yummy Mummy in 1988.

Both Fruit Brute and Yummy Mummy were short-lived and never quite caught on the way their monster pals did, and this will be the first time they’ve been back in nearly ten years.

The “Monster Mash” cereal is described as an “artificially berry flavored frosted cereal with monster marshmallows,” and it’s a true hybrid of all four of the beloved Halloween cereals.

The monsters are coming together not only for the “Monster Mash” cereal this year, but also for their very own supergroup remake of the classic Halloween song of the same title!

You can listen to the remake below, which comes with a fun “Behind the Music” video!

Find Monster Mash Cereal at your local grocer, along with Count Chocula Cereal, Boo Berry Cereal, and Franken Berry Cereal. Available for a limited time this fall, on the road to Halloween.

In addition to helping out with KARMA: The Dark World, Wired Productions has also announced that their upcoming gory action title Gori: Cuddly Carnage finally has a release date. The Angry Demon Studio-developed title will arrive on PC via Steam, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch on August 29. Digital pre-orders for the PlayStation versions include two days of early access on August 27.

Gori: Cuddly Carnage is a throwback to the games I played in the late 90’s and 2000’s,” explains Leo Zullo, Managing Director of publisher Wired Productions. “It’s pure adrenaline, fun, outrageous and really a showcase of just what indie gaming is all about – a place for creativity, freedom and the ability to make the game you want to make.”

“It’s been an incredible journey bringing this absurd and action-packed world to life, and we couldn’t be happier to finally share it with players everywhere,” says John Kalderon of Angry Demon Studio. “We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our amazing community and everyone who has been a part of this journey since 2020.”

Gori: Cuddly Carnage focuses on Cool-Toys Inc.. Fueled by insatiable demand, the toy company created Ultra Pets, the ultimate companions that never hunger, never require bathroom breaks and are impervious to the ravages of time. Little did anyone expect a mutation that would transform these perfect pets into twisted toys straight from your nightmares, hell-bent on wiping out humanity. What’s worse, the Adorable Army has kidnapped Professor Y, Gori’s creator, and the only human who showed him and his friends love.

It’s now up to Gori with his wise-cracking sentient hoverboard, F.R.A.N.K, and morose A.I companion, CH1-P, to slay the Adorable Army with explosive weaponry and devastating combos in an epic battle to prevent the Adorable Army from conquering the galaxy.
