Camille Sullivan (“The Man in the High Castle”) and Summer Howell (Curse of Chucky) star alongside Devon Sawa (Final Destination, Idle Hands, The Fanatic) and Nick Stahl (Bully, Disturbing Behavior) in IFC Midnight’s Hunter Hunter, and the trailer has arrived today.

IFC Midnight will release the film on December 18th, 2020. Check out the trailer below, which promises a “shocker of an ending” that you won’t see coming. It’s hard to tell if this is a movie about a killer wolf, a werewolf or something else entirely, but we’re intrigued either way…

Hunter Hunter follows a family living in the remote wilderness earning a living as fur trappers. Joseph Mersault (Sawa), his wife Anne (Sullivan), and their daughter Renée (Howell) struggle to make ends meet and think their traps are being hunted by the return of a rogue wolf.

Determined to catch the predator in the act, Joseph leaves his family behind to track the wolf. Anne and Renée grow increasingly anxious during Joseph’s prolonged absence and struggle to survive without him.

When they hear a strange noise outside their cabin, Anne hopes it is Joseph but instead finds a man named Lou (Stahl), who has been severely injured and left for dead. The longer Lou stays and Joseph is away, the more paranoid Anne becomes, and the idea of a mysterious predator in the woods slowly becomes a threat much closer to home.

Hunter Hunter is directed and written by Shawn Linden and produced by Juliette Hagopian, Neil Elman, and Linden with Jennifer Westin, Hannah Pillemer, Tony Vassiliadis and Fernando Szew at MarVista Entertainment and Particular Crowd executive producing.

Writer in the horror community since 2008. Editor in Chief of Bloody Disgusting. Owns Eli Roth's prop corpse from Piranha 3D. Has four awesome cats. Still plays with toys.

“John is a brilliant creative mind. We’ve been looking for the right thing to do together since we filmed Pee Wee’s Big Holiday and it’s finally here,” 3:59’s Joe and Nick Manganiello told Deadline. “Very excited to get to work on such weird, wild project with him.”

Film Bridge International is launching sales on the project in Cannes.
