Sorry bud, no can do. I'm thoroughly into Preacher, but I gotta have my USM and the stylish victory of Scud. I'll make ya a deal. I'll get Vol.2 on my way home tonight. That is of course IF I can get to my local shop. Y'see, part of the new Johnny Depp movie is being filmed here and since our local comic shop is in the shot it's being converted into an old-timey look for the film. Supposedly, the shop is closing for filming but I'm not sure if that's today or not. If it's open, Vol. 2 is mine. Deal?

Oh, and shoot the fucking cat. I'm allergic to the little bastards.

EDIT: I just got back from a service call where the home owner had cats. All stuffed up now. Little fuckin' bastards.

      • Walking Dead 48...wow.

Dead of Night #1 and 2, fun little reads, nothing fantastic, but entertaining...

John Bonham playing Moby Dick for real!

        Is it November 3rd yet?

Until The End Of The World (Preacher, Vol. 2) is probably my favorite graphic novel...and I don't just mean as far as Preacher goes.

I'll make it a priority then. The shop closes Thursday for 10 days because of this frakakata movie. I'll have to get there before then.

Agreed. That and Salvation are my favorites.

Also, I came across this tidbit which may or may not be true:

Mark Steven Johnson told SCI FI Wire that he plans to turn each issue of the comic into a single episode, which will be as close to the original source material as possible. "I gave [HBO] the comics, and I said, 'Every issue is an hour,'" Johnson said at a preview of his film Ghost Rider in Hollywood, Calif., on Nov. 30 2006. "And it's exactly the book. ... I had my meeting yesterday, and Garth Ennis is on the phone, and we're all in the room, and Garth is like, 'You don't have to be so beholden to the comic.' And I'm like, 'No, no, no. It's got to be like the comic.' So that's what's so brilliant about it. It's just like, HBO, who else would do it but them? Nobody. ... HBO is just like, 'Bring it on.'" Johnson has also confirmed that this will include the various one-shots and mini-series.

If they do make every episode one issue that would be SPECTACULAR. The series would be complete, I don't care for other stories interwoven until they bring the comic to life. HBO really is the only way to go.

Good comic, albeit a little overrated. Still good, with great artwork.

I refuse to get too excited until I actually see some sort of footage. I cannot trust Mark Steven Johnson not to fuck it up.

                      • Has Ennis' run on Punisher Max ended yet? Or has his last arc not finished up.

I'm almost positive it's two issues now. I'm shocked they haven't announced a new writer yet...

                              • I read the first Persepolis book for class this week, and then American Born Chinese for next week. I also read Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth and I'm going to write a ten-page paper on it.

I picked up three of the last four issues of Detective Comics, and I thought they were great. Things were actually happening. Is this the only ongoing series Batman is in? Or is there some other stuff I should be reading?
