Yeah, I suppose, but it was the sh*t to me back in the day. I recently rediscovered them in my old bedroom at mom & pop's house and gave them a re-read.

I already explained that the information I was actually after was whether or not the books were as good as Detective Comics.

...and? I was commenting on the original statement (which you can explain all you like, it doesn't make it any less moronic). I genuinely don't care enough about you or this discussion to continue it with you however...so feel free not to bother with anything further.

Also, I agree with the statement about Geoff Johns. He has been getting better and better as far as I'm concerned.
Alright, now I understand...and I can't really argue (except to say that PnG can hold his own as well). On the other note, I collect around 40 books, and only 7 are them are DC nowadays. I grew up on both Marvel and DC books equally, and until the last year or so...I've kept up with both companies in almost equal amounts. I just can't justify it anymore. • I can hold my own! Yeah bitches

but shit i remember when i got into comics i loved DC's shit cause i think marvel's shit was in the shitter...

but now a days i have dropped almost ALL my DC stuff cause the stories are stupid, the characters i could give a fuck about and really i just dont like them...

I mean i will follow Geoff Johns wherever EXCEPT the JSA I tired to keep up and care since i loved Kingdom come, but i liked it as its own story, as a possible WHAT IF future idea but now that johns may be telling us that is the future kinda takes away the bliss at least for me what KC was i mean the JSA swelling roster got even bigger this time when KC green lantern and KC obsidian showed up to help KC supes and the JSA fight a very much KC looking gog

But his green lantern series is a bar that NO ONE has even come close to, maybe morrison with the ASS but thats about it...

I really dont know how I will care about final crisis, cause anyone who really believes that DC will stick FINAL in anything is a moron, even if Morrison is allowed to run butt wild with the story
Countdown is/has been fucking horrible, and its the supposed backbone for DC right...I mean darkside giving jimmy the ability of all these old gods? maybe i'm reading into wrong, but i know jimmy goes ape shit and grows to like godzilla like levels in the next issue, its fucking stupid
However i'm loving what mongol jr is up to in GL and the black mercy's are getting their love
i get fables now and again, hellblazer whenever it ships and thats about it...i just dont have the love i used to have
The batman RIP will be interesting though, DC doesn't have the balls to kill batman like BRU had the balls to kill cap(even though there is a theory that cap isn't dead, and the Red skull has him and making his life a living hell) maybe bruce is stepping down? I dont think Didio has the balls to that to

Dini is really hit and miss, some of his early issues with Dec. is great shit, i loved the two face arcs it was awesome but i hate the dummy and everything related to him
i was going to get back into the titans but since they are doing a number 1 again and since winick is writing it i will pass

          as for marvel
I skipped on SI cause i really dont see the skrulls having any lasting impact, just like CW and HOM had ANY lasting impacts

You want a shock? have the spidy that came off the skrull ship be the actual spidey and the one that made the deal with the devil the skrull
No clone saga( i think, i may be off with the time)
          No stupid totem
          No spider children(Gwen and norman)
          No deal with the devil
you could go so many ways with this
          but it wont happen

i go every other week nowadays, with my list rapidly dwindling

GLC-i love what they are doing with mongol and the black mercys
Nova-i love this series, if you aren't with nova your dead! hear me dead!
BPRD 1946-same thing i said last posts ago, same old formula
ABe sap-been there done that, but i LOVE the art, this guy should be the regular artist instead of that horrible other artist. I get a ja lee vibe almost from him I wish mike would evoovle the people, branch them out, get some real world issues in WITH the myth. It seems that nowadays mike picks out a myth and writes a story done. Make new stuff up, put them all(including Hellboy) in new adventures, maybe some actual HUMAN villains but i did laugh in BPRD 1946 when von klempt and his giant gorillas showed up(you have to be a fan to like it)

No hard feelings. I really don't think it's a big deal, anyway. I was just sad you called me dumb.

I didn't call you dumb. I mocked the incredibly stupid question, but I didn't actually call you dumb, or even really insult you personally. It wasn't anything personal at all...if anyone were to ask a question like you did, they'd get equal treatment.

I actually always wanted to read Robocop Vs. Terminator. It was written by Frank Miller before he lost his shit...and I liked the video game as a kid. I do think that they've run a lot of the franchises into the ground, but I like the original AvP stuff (at least I did when it first came out...I haven't read it since).

Are they just going to go with a 6 issue arc?

I still need to read vol. 6. I have all 4 of the hardbacks, but I keep picking up other stuff and putting it off.

For Ennis' last arc? Yeah, which means there's four wonderful Ennis issues left. No matter who takes over...I'm going to miss the hell out of Ennis. I understand him wanting to move on though. If you count the original maxiseries, his MK run, in addition to what he's done with the MAX series...he's been writing Punisher stories for around ten years now.

I'd imagine him getting just a little tired of it.

Did you like his MK run? Cause I have to say I couldn't really stand it.

I personally loved his MK Punisher stuff...but you're not alone in disliking it.

Alright, now I understand...and I can't really argue (except to say that PnG can hold his own as well). On the other note, I collect around 40 books, and only 7 are them are DC nowadays. That includes a Wildstorm book (Ex Machina) & a Vertigo book (100 Bullets). So really only five are mainstream DC books. Those are Detective Comics (because the Dini issues are good...when they actually appear), Batman (because I don't want to miss out on Batman R.I.P.), as well as Green Lantern, JSA, and Action Comics. I might end up reading Final Crisis, but my point is that me only reading five mainstream DC books proves how fucking pathetic the company's become. I grew up on both Marvel and DC books equally, and until the last year or so...I've kept up with both companies in almost equal amounts. I just can't justify it anymore. Geoff Johns is really the only thing they have going for them at this point. He's their savior. He's their own personal Jesus Christ as far as I'm concerned...and it's a bit sad that he's the only one putting out great work consistently at that company.
Oh, I agree. The only books I purchase from DC are:

                                Green Lantern
                                Action Comics
                                Detective Comics
                                JLA
                                JSA
Flash (Even though I'm thinking about dropping it)
                                Batman *ugh* and the Outsiders
                                All Star Superman

Other than that, as much as I hate to admit it, I download. I used to only download back issues, but since DC has been such a bitch lately I have started to download the books I can't bring myself to spend money on. I mostly do it just to stay caught up. If I'm actually buying the stuff I really want, then is DC really losing out on a loyal fan not buying their filler? Not as far as I'm concerned. I mostly just download the Countdown series and it's spin-offs, Teen Titans, and whatever other bullshit they shell out.

I really....really want DC to get their barrings again and start putting out quality books. It seems that ever since the Crisis they have slowly, but consistently, dropped in entertaining stories. I'm only really looking forward to "Blackest Night"(who isn't?) and "Batman RIP". Other than that, I'll probably buy the main issues of their other "big" arcs and just download the tie-ins after everything is said and done.

....oh, and Geoff is rapidly becoming a favorite writer. I agree whole heartedly with your comment about him being DC's savior. He is single handedly keeping DC above the water when it comes to quality.

Frank Miller lost what he once had. He started having his "holier than thou" attitude after "Dark Knight Returns", when you really think about it he didn't do anything other than give Batman that shot in the arm he needed. He was in the right place at the right time. His work started going down hill round '95 and now look at him. He seems completely detached from the characters he is writing. Thinking that because he is a "name" he can write whatever he wants and people will think it's gold. Sorry Frank, you've lost your way, your writing is looked at with sadness and unintentional comedy. Congrats.

Sorry, I tend to rant about Miller and what he has become.
