  • The Story of the Eye

I just finished this. I thought it was brilliant, and had some pretty remarkable symbolism/commentary behind all of the perverse sexual descriptions and violence. WHat are your thoughts.

I agree. It's good stuff. Of course I'm a Marquis de Sade fan so it's kinda right down my alley.

Connoseiur, if you enjoyed this work you really need to check out The Torture Garden. licata would say the same. No, licata?

Forward, not permanent, sweet, not lasting.

I'm currently into old extreme literature, so Torture Garden and Marquis De Sade are next on my list.

My Favorite part in story of the eye was the part where the couple and the englishman strangle and rape the priest and cut his eye out of his head. There was some pretty heavy anti religious stuff going on there.

Blasphemy! Take that back, in the name of decadent literature!
