Production kicked off this week on Andy Muschietti’s IT: Chapter 2, which means more casting news is coming in. Deadline today brings us word that two characters from Stephen King’s novel have been cast, with I Killed My Mother director Xavier Dolan (pictured above) playing the role of Adrian Mellon and Will Beinbrink (Free State of Jones) as Tom Rogan.

The site notes, “In the Stephen King novel, Adrian Mellon was a gay man living in Derry who was attacked by bullies which led to his demise at the hands of Pennywise. In the book and the 90s miniseries, Tom Rogan was Beverly’s abusive lover.”

The cast also includes Jessica Chastain as Beverly Marsh, Bill Hader as Richie, James McAvoy as Bill, James Ransone as Eddie, Andy Bean as Stanley, Isaiah Mustafa as Mike and Jay Ryan as Ben. Bill Skarsgård returns as Pennywise.

Next year’s movie takes place 27 years after the first installment, with flashbacks to the ’80s. As adults, the Losers’ Club will resume their battle with the evil Pennywise.
