Yes, but he's completely destroying his record...although I suppose none of the remakes have been close to the quality of the originals.

Forward, not permanent, sweet, not lasting.

I personally don't mind a remake for this at all. I think that Butler is going to be the perfect replacement for Russel. I know a certain family member who will be quite surprised about this one...
In a world of shit, we are the standard.

Didnt they already remake this once with and call it Escape from LA. Zing. Could turn out cool though. Cant recall anything I've seen with Butler in it so I cant make a judgement on wether I think he'd fit the role or not. In fact Im not really sure about my feelings on this. I actually liked both Escape movies so it'd be atleast cool to see another one in any form,
If I win the lottery, I'm keeping you in an endless sea of bitches.

Assault on Precinct 13 was an awesome remake.

Lets hope this one turns out as good.

I wouldn't be surprised if others felt the same. He doesn't need all of his films remade. Then again, I'll always have the original to look back to.

I wouldn't be surprised either...Because there are a lot of irrational people in the world...There is no way remakes are going to "destroy his record"...I still want to know how that's even possible?

Surely...take a fourteen year old watching these remakes...then ask them about Carpenter....

Butler will pull it off. He's got skillz. Just go see 300. NO ONE else could have played that part any better.

So you're basing that statement on the average 14 year old...Do I need to point out how stupid that is?

Nope. You need to realize that, that your generation won't live forever and his legacy will likely die given all of the remakes.

That is REALLY fucking stupid...What about Alfred Hitchcock? Or the Universal Horror films? Or Elvis? Or just about any artist that existed before my generation...
