I sat behind him and Nicolas Cage at a Ring of Honor wrestling event in NYC last November. That's all I got.

But you're pretentious, so it's ok.

      Just kidding.

When Aronofsky approached Warner Bros. about recording one for the DVD, they said they weren't interested. Apparently, he's hoping that Criterion will release the film eventually, as they approached him about his other two films. The only reason they weren't released as Criterions was because he loaded the other releases with all the bonus materials he had. There was also apparently other materials he had prepared for The Fountain DVD but Warner was not interested in those either. To me, he made it sound like we were lucky to get any bonus materials at all on the release. As for now, we have the commentary he recorded and uploaded online for free. I think there's a link to it on his Myspace somewhere.

I found The Fountain the weakest of his films. On a visual level, the "past" and "future" looked great. Like Depeche, I'm a whore for visuals. Lush colors, good cinematography, just visual arresting. I know the different sequences are suppose to parallel each other but the "present" was completely boring to me and that's the key to deciphering the whole movie. At 88 minutes (I think), the film felt like 3 hours. It just dragged too much for me. It's still not a bad movie, it's just that I found most of it to be uninteresting.

Pi is still my favorite of his. Requiem is good but a bit overhyped. I'm interested to see what he does with boxing and wrestling movies. I hope he does something high-concept with them like he has with his other flicks.

ITS A FIDAY THE 13TH MOVIE! WHATS TO REVIEW? YOU KNOW WHATS GOING TO FUCKING HAPPEN! IF YOU LIKED IT BEFORE YOU WILL NOW, IF YOU DIDNT SHUT THE FUCK UP AND GO RENT A MY LITTLE PONY MOVIE AND CRY IN A CORNER!

The only reason I started using torrents was to get the Fountain commentary. I really can't wait for The Wrestler.

Pi is my favorite, but I have enjoyed all three of his films.

Eh, I thought it was much better then Reqium, but that's just me.

The acting in the film is also top notch.
And the music is fucking awesome. I can't believe Clint Mansell didn't even get nominated for an Oscar.

I think he is the most interesting of American filmmakers today. At least he's doing something that's going off the beaten path. I haven't seen The Fountain yet but I loved Pi and Requiem For A Dream.

I've only seen Requiem for a Dream and while it was a great movie I can't say its something I would go out of my way to watch a second time
