The Universal Monsters Come to 4K Ultra HD in Four Film “Icons of Horror Collection” This October!

Published

on

In the wake of recent rumors that the classic Universal Monsters movies are being upgraded to 4K Ultra HD, it looks like the first official announcement has been made this morning.

On the way this Halloween season is the Universal Classic Monsters: Icons of Horror Collection, a four-film set that Universal will reportedly be releasing on October 5, 2021.

The set spans the years 1931-1941, including Dracula, Frankenstein, The Invisible Man, and The Wolf Man.

Other classic Universal Monsters movies such as The Mummy, Bride of Frankenstein, and Creature from the Black Lagoon are not included, but perhaps they’ll be part of a second set.

Bonus Features packed into the set include The Road to Dracula, The Frankenstein Files: How Hollywood Made a Monster, Karloff: The Gentle Monster, Monster by Moonlight, The Wolf Man: From Ancient Curse to Modern Myth, and Now You See Him: The Invisible Man Revealed.

As for whether or not the individual films will also be physically released in 4K Ultra HD on their own, we haven’t heard anything about that yet. Stay tuned for more as we learn it.

The teenagers soon understand what evil they’ve released as they are overcome with an assortment of horrific experiences. With fiendish followers invading suburbia, it’s now up to the kids to discover the secret that can lock The Gate forever . . . if it’s not too late.
