              • The Girl Next Door (2007)

Disturbing, but a little disappointing. The action was pretty atrocious, especially from all the kids, although the girl who played the main victim was pretty good.

The fact that the film (and novel) kind of exploited the main events it's based off leaves a bad taste in my mouth. They add contrived Hollywood elements like an innocent boy witness and revenge-type ending which differ from what really happened.

It also kind of looked like a TV movie which was off-putting and the dialogue was awful in the first half hour. The second half is quite powerful and disturbing though. It's an uncomfortable watch, but it could've been better.

What's that film about? The title just gives nothing away. Is it a biopic or a rom-com? It's a rom-com, isn't it? I knew it!!

Underrated 80s Lovecraft horror. Glad I remembered to pick it in the last Horror Draft.

                      • Limp., 2013. 6/10

It's time to end the relationship with his dead girlfriend.

Judy, 2014. Not sure how to rate this.

                        This film is so mental.

                        • Free Fall (Freier Fall )- 4/5

German movie about two Police cadets, one with a girlfriend and a baby on the way, who start an affair. Pretty good film that explores subject matter that is taboo but more common than what people think.

                          • C.H.U.D. (1984) 8/10

When a number of homeless people and the wife of a police captain disappear in one New York neighborhood it turns out that C.H.U.D.s (Cannibalistic Humanoid Underground Dwellers) are responsible due to a toxic waste spill that's being covered up by corrupt bureaucrats, therefor it's up to the police captain, a soup kitchen cook and a photographer stop them.

                            C.H.U.D. II - Bud the Chud (1989) 6/10

A pair of high school students on a dare steal a frozen corpse from a secret government lab. Once thawed it awakens and starts attacking people, turns out the body is a C.H.U.D. designed by the military as a weapon and the people who it attacks are becoming C.H.U.D.s as well. Bares little resemblance to the first film but is entertaining.

                            The Alien Factor (1978 ) 7/10

When a UFO crashes in a rural Maryland community the residents discover the vessel's pilot had been collecting specimens for an intergalactic zoo and the local police force as well as some helpful scientists need to stop the escaped creatures before they kill everyone.

                            The Galaxy Invader (1985) 7/10

When a silly looking alien crash lands on Earth it proceeds to kill an unsuspecting couple in their home and then goes on the run as a group of rednecks hunt it in the forest. An ultra low budget science fiction film that would make Ed Wood proud.

Pod People (1983) aka Extra Terrestrial Visitors 3/10

A trio of ignorant hunters stumble upon some alien eggs in a cave and proceed to smash them all except one which is found by a young boy, it hatches and they become friends however it's mother is looking for it's baby and is killing everyone in her way. Cheap special effects, silly looking aliens and bad acting proliferate.

                            Aliens (1986) 10/10

After spending fifty seven years drifting through space in suspended animation Ripley is rescued but no one believes her story of the Xenomorphs until contact is lost on the planet colony of LV-426 and the alien threat is suspected so Ripley leads a team of 'space marines' back to where it all began. Absolutely spectacular action and special effects, great cast and story, a sequel that arguably surpasses it's predecessor. Oh and I don't care who thinks it's weird, Vasquez still gives me a boner!

                            1408 (2007) 7/10

A cynical non-fiction writer who specializes in debunking supernatural theories and haunted locations has chosen to write his next book about the infamous room 1408 in the Dolphin Hotel, a room that has supposedly killed more than fifty people over the years. Soon after checking in he discovers he may have finally found a real haunted location and he may not live to tell anyone.

                            Ed Wood (1994) 10/10

A docudrama about schlockmaster Edward D. Wood Jr (Johnny Depp) and his struggles to make his many 'classic' horror and science fiction films as well as his close friendship with legendary horror actor Bela Lugosi (Martin Landau). Arguably Tim Burton's greatest film which won a couple of Academy Awards such as best actor for Landau's performance as Lugosi.
