And l don't need a new movie every two to three years! Lets just get through Episodes 7-9, like George has been teasing us about for years, and then lets go from there. Also, l think Spielberg should direct Episode 7, starring Mark Hamill as an aging, troubled Luke. Holy shit, the possibilities are endless!

And no doubt that one of Disney's first moves will be the blu-ray release of the original theatrical versions, rendering all other video releases of the last fifteen years obsolete.

I agree. The possibilities are endless. Get some fresh talent to take over.

I read somewhere that Joe Johnston, director of Captain America was interested at one stage in doing a stand alone Boba Fett movie. Imagine how good that would be.

As long as Lucas stays away from writing and directing this franchise can thrive.

l've been doing more research on this, and l just read that there is apparently a rough outline of the entire new trilogy, written by Lucas. And these movies will involve Luke, Han, and Leia.

Also, a Boba Fett movie directed by Joe Johnston would be super bombad wizard!!!

          This.

I'm still excited. I hope one day we'll get a Grievous who isn't a little bitch on screen. And I can't see Joss having anything at all to do with it. He is head deep in Marvel. He is working on EVERY Marvel film getting put out. He doesn't have the time.

They have been working on a TV series since the release of ROTS. So, I wonder what's happening with that now Walt Disney have bought Lucasfilm? It was supposed to be set between that film and 'A New Hope'. Maybe they might do a movie trilogy instead set during that period. I don't know how they're going to do a sequel trilogy to the original trilogy because the EU novels are the canonical continuations of that.

I am kinda worried about this deal. I'm really torn between this decision because yes we will probably get a blu-ray of the original unaltered trilogy as well as probably all the side projects like the Ewok and Droid cartoons in individual form (not the edited together movie form before) as well as the live action Ewok movies. However Dark Horse has been doing the Star Wars comics since the 90's so what happens to them. Yeah Marvel will probably get the property when their contracts with Lucasfilms expire so that could be cool since marvel hasn't done Star Wars since like the 80's. Not to mention the Star Wars book universe.Disney also now has all the rights to Indiana Jones and Willow which could be remade at any time. They could also pull any parodies or fan films on Youtube for license infringement(while Lucas encouraged this. Disney might consider it as painting their characters in a negative light). So only time can tell. I'm sure this deal was more about getting ILM and Skywalker sound than anything else, but Disney hasn't had the best of luck lately with their films so they may switch gears and go with developing Lucasfilms to be released.

I remember hearing about that years ago. Didn't he write them back when he was making the original trilogy?

That is the one thing I hated about the Prequels. Grievous was SUCH a badass in the genndy tartakovsky Short 10 min star Wars cartoons then Lucas took a shit all over him.

I was never a big Star Wars fan...and really see this as a waste of money on Disney's part. we will most likey get more shitty CG filled fucking retarded movies and more Disney toys and shit that will be just filler for the "True" fans to bitch and complain about.

I'm no reader of the EU novels but I have read some and what I have read have been very good. The Thrawn trilogy which is the first story arc after ROTJ after some one off stories is excellent. The EU books are supposed to be the official continuation of the saga. So, I wonder if Lucas' outline is based on this literature trilogy. Although, these books are set only five years after Jedi. The original cast would be far too old to reprise their roles.

Same here. Don't need no more new SW food. I am waiting only for the HD edition of the original series and that's it.

That would be a big fat smack in the face of Lucas, who didn't want to release the original theatrical versions at any cost. That serves him right.

So not only does Lucas get 4 billion dollars but he still gets to decide what the next Star Wars movies will be like?

                            I fucking hate that man.

Looks like I was wrong and Luke will be returning. I hope that Mark Hammel (sp?) will return though.
