I've seen Amour twice. Very good stuff. Not Hanekes best but good.

Child's play was the wrong choice of word. Those were the only two I found to be truly great.

Emmanuelle Riva - National Society, Los Angeles, and BAFTA
Jennifer Lawrence - Los Angeles, Golden Globe(comedy), Critics Choice(comedy), and Screen Actors GUild
Jessica Chastain - Golden Globe(drama), Critics Choice, National Board Review

I think Lawrence is in the lead, but Riva's BAFTA win pushes her forward too. I think I place Chastain 3rd.
I hope riva takes the win. lawrence has years ahead of her yet and chastain will continue to do well and both will recieve more noms.

        • Would be nice if either Django or Pi won Best Picture, highly doubt it happening though.

Would absolutely love to see Django win.

Will probably be Lincoln or Argo though, which I'm fine with.

Put "2 Fast 2 Furious" in B&W and Se7en thinks he's watching a Bergman film.
I find the Metal Gear Solid series to be mediocre at best.

I hope we have 2 or 3 good surprises. Even though Argo is the frontrunner, to see Lincoln or Life Of Pi take Best Picture would be awesome.

Lead Actress has 3 major contenders...Chastain, Riva, and Lawrence. All 3 have won a good share of precurser awards. Naomi Watts winning by a few votes would be fantastic!!

There is a 2 way race for Supporting Actor too between Jones and Waltz. But with all the Argo love the past 2 weeks with awards, Alan Arkin may sneak in.

                  • I don't know, why the Academy didn't nominate Jean-Louis Trintignant for Best Supporting Actor, he is equally amazing like Emmanuelle Riva, if not superior. And I would award Haneke for Best Director and his film for Best Picture as well. But we all know this won't happen, at least the Best Picture award.
Though, it would be a sensation if Haneke would win Best Director.

I am anxious, whether I might top my 17 out of 24 from last year. It's all official now with my prediciton post here, no weaseling out it!

I read his bio on wiki by now. He missed his plane back to LA on September 11th by accident. Otherwise he would have been burned to smithereens.
