Korine's directorial style is more about the innocence/feeling of youth as opposed to the deviance/subversive nature of it, IE: Larry Clark's.

If Korine had directed KIDS it would've sported a bit more levity.
That is if you don't count the limitless amounts of naked chicks in this film. The most that I have ever seen in a theatrical R rated film. Sure the full out sexual 'intercourse' scenes aren't too explicit, but what did you expect? Hardcore porn?

Thanks for pointing that out Deadly, not to mention the sex scene at the end with Archie(Gucci Mane) and his 2 chicks....

That scene kinda grossed me out.
So basically, the two full on sex scenes in the movie involve threesomes... Can somebody please let me know if any other film has had that before?
Also, regarding the sexual theme.... in general the spring break interpreted in this film = SEX. The relationship between the girls and Alien also has a great deal to do with the sex. I just don't understand why somebody would think that there isn't hardly a sexual theme in this film, it oozes at the seems.

"there was a lack of sex/sexual themes considering how the film was marketed." The entire marketing campaign of this film consisted of borderline Disney jail-bait in skimpy bikinis with the headline "from the writer of KIDS" squeezed in. Goto the Facebook page, ass-shots for days.
I'm not putting down the film, it didn't bother me in the least but I don't think it's a stretch to say that the typical movie-goer is probably expecting more sex than was put to screen.
Don't forget Archie's ( Gucci Mane's) scenes with his chicks UH...

              My bad.

Anyways, the threesomes in this film are much more graphic than those.
Not to mention Rachel Korine gets naked multiple times and gets beer poured all over her tits while getting dry humped by two dudes wearing jock straps.
Anyways, there is way more to this film than the nudity and sex. I'm looking forward to more people seeing it on here and hearing opinions. A fucking crazy, thought provoking, and trippy film that really does touch on a lot of emotion.

Nobody is saying that Ultimate High, it just seems you wanted it to go further than it did and was let down by it...

I thought it was a very sexual film, as I matter a fact I felt the film was busting at the seams with sexuality, I don't think you have to show everything to get your point across. Maybe if Larry Clark directed this it would've been a different story...

The GM sex scene was about as tame as a threesome could be. Korine has gone on record that he fell asleep during the scene(which was real, apparently).

Um, no, absolutely not. Denise Richards + champagne > the entirety of both of the SB scenes... put together.

Huh? When leaving the theater I heard people talking about the mass amounts of sex and nudity in the film and saying stuff along the lines of "Never letting my kids watch that", etc. What was promoted was delivered in that category and then some IMO.

My main gripe with the film is the incessant repetition.

That said, all and all, I enjoyed the experience. Great aesthetic and sound-design plus, it had that DRIVE factor where it was really fun to see such an experimental effort in a (huge) theater.

This expanded to 300 more screens today, hopefully that'll give people more of a chance to see it that were interested.

Still not showing where I am.

With the massive amounts of hype this film has been getting over the last few weeks I feel like it would've made a shit load of money. Definitely would've been #1 at the BO.

Put "2 Fast 2 Furious" in B&W and Se7en thinks he's watching a Bergman film.
I find the Metal Gear Solid series to be mediocre at best.
