• ENTER THE VOID (from the director of IRREVERSIBLE)

    French TRAILER 2010

    story:
Oscar and sister Linda now live in Tokyo. Oscar survives by doing small drug deals while Linda is a stripper in a nightclub. One night during a police raid, Oscar is hit by a bullet. While dying, his spirit, faithful to the promise made to his sister to never give up, refuses to leave the world of the living. Then his mind wanders in the city and his visions become increasingly chaotic and nightmarish. Past, present and future will mix in a hallucinatory maelstrom.

        Looks peachy.

I dug Noé's first two films so consider me interested.

Am suprised no one has been talking about this on here!!!!

Accoriding to one review, "If the following things disturb you, then you should probably avoid this film: strobe lights, drug use, shaky hand-held cameras, graphic sexuality, sperm, spinning cameras, psychedelic imagery, blood, gay sex, abortion, breastfeeding or a graphic auto wreck."

This sounds like a truly fucked up movie, and I have read it contains a very graphic abortion scene. So far all the reviews have been good with the only bad thing being "its too long" at 165 mins. But it was shortned to 155 mins for Canns and Noe had said thats his final cut. There have been do distrabutors for this film yet for the US or UK, although it will be released Q1 of next year in France.

This sounds right up my alley . Loved Irreversible so will definitely watch this.

Cinema needs more directors like Noe if you ask me.

              Yup
Some people are calling him a hack but screw them, he makes surreal movies that are all about images and assult of the senses, and so far ETV sounds like it will shock people as much Irreversable did.

Altho people are saying, dont expect it to be as violent as Irreversable.

The guy is far from a hack. He creates challenging and confronting cinema which we need more of. I loved Irreversibles message and themes, but I must admit the 2 scenes of violence was some of the most disturbing imagery i've ever seen.

EDIT - Just found a rave review but heavy with spoilers

I wont be reading that if it has spoilers.
Hopefully it gets a UK distrabutor or the french release has english subs for the japanese spoken parts.

IRREVERSIBLE is one of the most uncomfortable viewing experiences I've ever had, this isn't to say that thats a bad thing. Very effective. I'd like to check this one out.

I'm not too surprised that this hasn't received many hits or or replies, given the scope of cinema most of the active users here watch outside of horror.

Trailers or reviews aren't something I look at prior to a viewing, so I'll remain in the dark until it reaches state-side. Noe can really deliver mean punches; that's all I need to know.

I'll refrain from watching that as i want to see the movie as a whole and not be teased by a one minute clip.

Surprised the release is taking a while though.

I love his films because he chooses to make his films so so confrontational . We need more film makers like that.
