  • The Raid 2: Berandal (2014)

The first flick was fucking fantastic and the sequel looks ridiculous:

Here's hoping TIFF gets it in September.

Liked the first flick the first time I watched it, but now I've grown to absolutely love it. That teaser looks fucking intense.

Although I love the first film and the teaser looks good It's going to be interesting to see how Evans handles the craziness without the formula becoming tedious.

Takes real talent to have a film so focused on action like The Raid and keep things fresh in later films.

Put "2 Fast 2 Furious" in B&W and Se7en thinks he's watching a Bergman film.
I find the Metal Gear Solid series to be mediocre at best.

This has been called the best sequel since Terminator 2.

                Wicked.

I've seen people say it's one of the best action films of all time.

Wasn't this supposed to come out on VOD a day ago, or am I just completely fucked?

                      I've literally seen it nowhere.

I was wondering the same thing but I think it's a theater release, with Sony releasing it in more and more cities as the weeks go on.

If that is the case, I won't be seeing it for quite some time. Fuck you Cineplex.

EDIT: Getting a nationwide release on the 11th.

                        I'm not in that nation

I really hope this plays near me. It would look insane on a huge screen!

I've just seen this deleted scene and it's absolutely extraordinary. They deleted it because of pacing issues, so god knows what the rest of the film is going to be like!

Watched the first film last night and was super impressed. The brutality was wince inducing and so many of the lines were great, it was a blast. It was smart having the whole film take place in such a confined place, it made it super intense.

I don't watch a lot of martial arts movies so forgive me for asking but is The Raid like the modern apex of the genre? I just wonder because I would like to know if there are others better that I need to check out. I've seen most classics like Enter the Dragon, The Octagon, and The Master of the Flying Guillotine, but I have no idea what modern ones are comparable to The Raid as far as quality. I think the last movie I saw in the genre was Fearless, which I thought was pretty good.

Anyhow, looking forward to the sequel, it's being quite hyped.
