Tubi Acquires Thriller Comedy Series “Dead Hot” for Premiere in the US & Canada
Tubi, the streaming service that invites you to watch anything and everything and never asks you for so much as a penny, has announced this morning that they’ve picked up “Dead Hot,” an original series that’s being described as a fusion of the thriller and comedy genres.
“Dead Hot” will premiere on Tubi in both the United States and Canada.
THR details, “The Liverpool-set series tells the story of two twentysomethings Elliot and Jess, best friends united by a bond of grief at losing Peter—the first and only love of Elliot and Jess’ twin brother, who went missing in mysterious circumstances five years previously. Still reeling from the trauma, the best friends spiral into a hedonistic lifestyle, partying to numb their grief while clinging to a small hope that they will one day find out what happened.”
The cast for the British series includes Bilal Hasna, Vivian Oparah, Penelope Wilton and Peter Serafinowicz. You can expect six episodes when the series comes to Tubi.
Charlotte Coben (The Stranger, Stay Close) created, wrote and produces “Dead Hot.”
THR notes that “Dead Hot” will hit Amazon Prime Video in the UK on March 1.
The Jacob Batalon-starring vampire-comedy series “Reginald the Vampire” returns to SYFY for Season 2 on May 8, and the new season’s official trailer has arrived today.

In the upcoming second season, “Reginald Andres finally got his life together – when he was turned into a vampire. “Reginald the Vampire” is produced by Great Pacific Media Inc., Modern Story Company, December Films and Cineflix Studios and executive produced by Harley Peyton, Jeremiah Chechik, Todd Berger, Lindsay Macadam, Brett Burlock and Peter Emerson.
“Reginald the Vampire” is based on the book series by Johnny B. Truant. Harley Peyton (“Chucky”) is the executive producer/showrunner of the SYFY television series.
