Cave In is an American rock band that formed in 1995, in Methuen, Massachusetts. After several members changes in the late 90's, their lineup solidified with the 1998 release of Until Your Heart Stops through Hydra Head Records. Their early albums were prominent releases in the independent metalcore scene. After this release, the band started experimenting with other genres. Cave In later received mainstream recognition for their 2003 RCA Records album Antenna and it's lead single "Anchor," which had an overall alternative rock style. The group went on hiatus in 2006 and later reformed in 2009 with the release of a new EP, Planets of Old - a release that saw a return to Cave In's earlier and heavier sound.

Huge Cave In fan here. Even drafted them in a previous Artist Draft I'm not a huge fan of their early stuff but it's still enjoyable. All the LP and EPs starting with Jupiter and after are fucking great. Had a chance to see them live a few years ago but was bummed as they only played for 40 minutes headlining. They also have some great side and solo projects as well. Very talented band!

It's funny, I've always heard about them but never really checked them out properly until a week ago.

I haven't been listening to anything else since. As of now, Perfect Pitch Black is my favorite album of theirs.

Can't believe what I'm been missing out on. Glad to see they're reunited...pretty good timing to become a fan

Also found out that Zozobra and Old Man Gloom feature members from Cave In. Awesome.

I'm curious how I went all this time without knowing about them, haha.

Hope they keep going in the mold of PPB. Thought it was a nice middle ground of their earlier works and the more spacey latter works. Woo! Can't wait to hear the new songs!
