As soon as the Niners declared Kaepernick QB against Chicago I kinda felt that he was gonna be the next big discovery...and that's what it seems to be.

And I'm in agreement with you, I don't think the Falcons are that good either. I mean if you look at their previous games you'll see that most of 'em were very close, however sloppy, games. But some how they pull it off.

The big teams (other than the Bengals) in the AFC are difficult to predict. I think the Ravens and Patriots don't seem like real contenders this time, but the Texans and Broncos look like they're built for the playoffs.
My post about the Bengals going to the Super Bowl was sarcasm. With the way they flip-flop it's hard to tell what they can and can't do...

On the other hand, I don't think the Ravens are good enough to own the record they have but what are ya gonna do? As for the Pats, if the opposing team can score 30+ and play solid defense they could easily be taken out.

I believe the Broncos, as of now, are the team to beat. They're red hot. Peyton has turned them into a Super Bowl contending team...even more so than what he did in Indy.

My lame ass prediction is the 49ers vs the Texans in the Superbowl, with the 49ers taking the win.
Eh, I don't think the Texans will make it this year. Their game against Detroit was sloppy. They're lucky they got the win. But the Niners, with or without Smith are definitely ones to watch. They could possibly be the only team able to stop Denver. Guess we'll see.

    • So Gene Chizik was fired from Auburn after winning a championship in his second year and only coaching 4 for them so I wouldn't doubt it if a NFL team picks him up in the offseason.

I have no idea why Auburn fired him it seems like a stupid idea to me allthough he was only 19-19 without the perfect season.

        Wut?

He won a championship with a dominant, dominant, Heisman winner at the helm. Coincidentally, after Newton left, he went 12-14 in his final two seasons.

Brady has put up 117 in the last three games against the current Broncos' D(2011-2012)117.

That was last year, man. And during the beginning of the season. He could quite possibly do it again but Manning would definitely go with him stride for stride. I see Manning destroying NE's D over Brady destroying Denver's.

True but he's a good coach and I wouldn't doubt if some nfl team picks him up maybe not as head coach but as a coordinator. He won a championship and I wouldn't say Cam was that dominant the defense had to stop the opposing team also which was against high flying Oregon.

i heard a replay of the radio call for that play, and it was awesome, the announcer sounding all ho-hum at first, and then raising his voice with each move ray rice made, building to a crescendo with his first down. was truly a lesson in the power of voice; it made the play even more exciting, cus all you had to go on was this announcer's voice.

Police told the Kansas City Star that Belcher, 25, and Perkins got into an argument at approximately 7:00 a.m. Saturday at a residence in nearby Independence, Mo. Belcher shot Perkins multiple times. She was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead there. The couple had a 3-month-old daughter, who is currently safe in the care of a relative.

Members of the Chiefs' staff tried to stop Belcher from committing any other acts of violence before the player turned a gun on himself. The team's practice facility was evacuated and put on police lockdown.

The Chiefs were scheduled to host the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, and the team has announced on its official site that the game will proceed as scheduled.
One of the most bizzare things to ever happen in the NFL. Him and his girlfriend both dead, we'll never know the full story. Such a sad thing to hear. People are joking about it being because of their record, but this is NO joke, guys. Terrible loss. I'm just in shock. My prayers go out to the Chiefs, and Belcher's and Perkins' families.

Yup; and at this point it's obvious they're not getting one of the two playoff byes. Unlike last year when they rushed him back after suffering a high ankle sprain (he was essentially playing on one leg when they got tebowed) they might as well rest him until he's sufficiently healthy to play. Then you just have to hope they as a team are healthy going in and maybe they can go on an epic playoff run ala Steelers 05, Giants 07, Packers 10 & Giants 11.

                        • Bengals beat the Chargers to go to 7-5, but Pittsburgh beating Baltimore means we're still 'in the hunt'. How the hell they pulled off the win without Big Ben is improbable, just amazing.

As for the Colts...just, wow. Down by 12 in the 4th quarter and Luck makes a perfect drive down the field to get the game winning touchdown with 0 seconds left on the clock. Incredible.

                              • It was good to see the Chiefs murder the competition for once.

And Dallas won? What happened to the Boyz of December?

I wonder how much input he's had since his medical departure.
