Before you go see the new Scream movie in theaters, you’ll probably want to brush up on the previous films of the franchise, of course all four directed by the late Wes Craven.

To be clear, without spoiling a single thing, the new movie is very much a sequel to all previous films in the franchise, particularly the original classic and 2011’s Scream 4.

If you don’t have time to watch four movies before the weekend, we totally understand and so do the folks over at Alamo Drafthouse. That’s why they’ve put together an excellent 17-minute video that recaps the entire franchise to this point, highlighting key details along the way.

Sidney, Dewey, and Gale have gone through a whole lot in the past 25 years, and the video should fully catch you up to speed on all the details you may have forgotten over the years.
