2012 NFL Thread
74 days until the draft.
Early hopes for your team? Early SB picks? Will Luck be any good? What will fall off first, Eli's "elite" status or Peyton's arm? Will Rex Ryan and Andy Reid enter a cheese steak eating contest? Discuss! |

All I want for my team (Dolphins) is a fucking franchise QB!!
1. Manning - I'd only want if healthy, would instantly put the Phins in the playoffs. 2. RG3 - Price would be too steep for Phin management, Clev or Wash will get him. 3. Flynn - Keep hearing Miami is the front runners for him, If we get him I hope he is the real deal. 4. Tannehill - Next best QB prospect after RG3, some NFL analysts say he will be a 1st round pick, possibly in the 10-20 overall range. If guys like Locker,Ponder and Gabbert can all go in the 1st round to teams needing franchise QB's there is no fucking reason for the Dolphins to not take this guy with the 9th overall pick if he is still available, gotta gamble sometimes in the draft instead of taking the safe picks all the time. |
"The Beard" has been sheared.

NFL examines how the stadium can compete with the couch
Constantly surprised that this isn't a larger issue year after year. Tickets for a game range from $70 - $120 each league wide. Beer at Ford Field is $8.75 for a 22oz. I am definitely one of the fans that would rather sit in my house, with my home theater booming the games on Sunday before I'd deal with the stress/cost/irritation of a live game. Beer is cheaper, bathrooms are closer (and no one can piss on my shoe, unless my friends are really hammered) and food is much better / more affordable. Year after year, I'm shocked that these venues sell out as often as they do. I can't afford to go to more than a game or two a year, and I feel my household is doing fairly well. The cost is just impossible to justify, IMO. Even with DirecTicket, which runs about $66 a month for five months....my cost is still substantially in my favor to stay home. |
