Ridley Scott's Alien Prequel - Prometheus (2012)
 Was originally intended as a prequel to Ridley Scott's Alien (1979), but Scott decided to turn it into an original film with Noomi Rapace (who was already set to star in the prequel) still in the cast as one of five main characters. Some time later however, it was confirmed that the movie will take place in the same universe as Alien (1977), it will greatly reference that movie, but it will, for the bigger part, be an original movie and not a direct prequel.

'Alien' is a truly great film. An all time classic sci-fi horror, which hasn't dated hardly in the slightest. I can't see any reason to remake this at all!

I'm not opposed to a prequel (which is the current rumor). But a remake i am 100% opposed to.

Seriously... why does everyone whine like a puritan at an orgy whenever a "classic film" is being remade? Don't want to watch a remake of your favorite film? Ok, then don't watch it. It's really quite simple. I really don't give a shit, they could remake any movie they want, if it's good then I will be happy about it. If it sucks then I will just not give a shit and stick to watching/telling people about the original.
