Reporting Spam - BLOODY-DISGUSTING

One of the more tedious aspects of modding the forum is having to deal with so many duplicate and needless threads. This is why we're so thankful to all that take the time to report needless threads, and link to the existing ones. It saves us a lot of effort, dramatically increasing our response time. So once again, we must thank those of you who take the time to help us out.

On the flip side of that, when multiple members begin trashing a threads creation it becomes counter productive. Most often resulting in flaming, continued bumping of the undesired topic, overall essentially negating the helpful intentions and becoming even more of a nuisance.

We ask that only one member link to an existing thread, and that all other members report said thread or at the very least refrain from posting; until a staff member is able to determine whether a thread will remain open.

BD thanks you for your assumed cooperation in this matter.

I sometimes hesitate to report because I figured checking 423542314 reports on the same thread would be tedious.

After 10+ replies when someone has provided a link, I sometimes report it, just in case the link provider didn't remember to report the topic.

I also try not to post more than once after supplying the link to the existing thread.

Not sure if you do it here Dragula, but on some legacy when a post is reported the "Report Post" icon becomes un-click-able for other people; so only one report comes from each post, not from every person who reports it. It stops you from getting this:

They don't, but they should. I didn't even know that ability existed...

It does. Once a post becomes reported the red in the icon fades and let's other members know the post has already been reported. Neat feature, I think.

done! i just made it so if a post has been reported you'll see this

icon instead of the red one and you can't click it.

you can see it in action at the top of this thread
