The Uninvited sucked so much. Much like The Unborn.
Horrible, horrible movies.

The Unborn is shit. The Uninvited was pretty good for what it was.

I didn't think it sucked that much. I mostly try to see remakes as new interpretations of a story. Like taking the script and rewrite it differently.
I've just seen it again and though that the director put enough care into the story. And he obviously payed due to details: After Matthew's body is found and Anna is alone ('with Alex'), she shows her the self-inflicted markings on her wrists. Now being convinced, Alex says "We're the last one standing between her and what she wants to have for herself." Note the singular in "last ONE standing". Well, when I noticed this, I was quite delighted. |

I liked this film, its been sometime since I have seen it though. Emily Browning is such a doll! (Get it? Babydoll, lol...) I do remember being surprised by how much I liked it upon my first viewing, not bad at all for a PG-13 remake!

Yea same here, I went into it thinking i'd be disappointed but was surprised at my reaction to it....I remember I wanted to go watch the Friday the 13th remake but it was all sold out so I ended up watching The Uninvited instead and wasn't disappointed. I finally watched the Friday the 13th remake when it came out on dvd and (no offense to anyone who liked it) but i was so happy it was sold out the day i went and that i had ended up watching something way better imo

"The Uninvited"......I really enjoyed this suspenseful thriller. Had some creepy moments in it..especially the mother's corpse in the summer house and then the bf in Anna's room. Cool stuff there!! I loved the chemistry between Emily Browning and Arielle Kebbel. They played off eachother so real and natural...just like real sisters. The ending was a shock and it all pieced together beautifully.
8.5/10

'The Uninvited' Good ninety minute filum, scary? Not really. Worth seeing? Yes, definitely. But most fans of the original 'A Tale of Two Sisters' will probably hate it. I should hate it but the acting and pacing were spot on and, dare I say it, better than the original. The acting, cinematography and direction are all top notch in this one, it may be utterly derivative but it's just as good as the Asian film it's ripping off. A Tale of Two Sisters - 9/10 The Uninvited - 8/10 A worthy remake indeed and one I totally got into and enjoyed in its own right. Just watch the fucking Jap original first as it's a modern-day classic.

I enjoyed this remake as well. Not near as good as the original, but still worth watching. Fine performances from the two sisters and the step mom.
