i heard a replay of the radio call for that play, and it was awesome, the announcer sounding all ho-hum at first, and then raising his voice with each move ray rice made, building to a crescendo with his first down. was truly a lesson in the power of voice; it made the play even more exciting, cus all you had to go on was this announcer's voice.

Members of the Chiefs' staff tried to stop Belcher from committing any other acts of violence before the player turned a gun on himself. The team's practice facility was evacuated and put on police lockdown.

The Chiefs were scheduled to host the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, and the team has announced on its official site that the game will proceed as scheduled.

One of the most bizzare things to ever happen in the NFL. Him and his girlfriend both dead, we'll never know the full story. Such a sad thing to hear. People are joking about it being because of their record, but this is NO joke, guys. Terrible loss. I'm just in shock. My prayers go out to the Chiefs, and Belcher's and Perkins' families.

Yup; and at this point it's obvious they're not getting one of the two playoff byes. Unlike last year when they rushed him back after suffering a high ankle sprain (he was essentially playing on one leg when they got tebowed) they might as well rest him until he's sufficiently healthy to play. Then you just have to hope they as a team are healthy going in and maybe they can go on an epic playoff run ala Steelers 05, Giants 07, Packers 10 & Giants 11.

Bengals beat the Chargers to go to 7-5, but Pittsburgh beating Baltimore means we're still 'in the hunt'. How the hell they pulled off the win without Big Ben is improbable, just amazing.

As for the Colts...just, wow. Down by 12 in the 4th quarter and Luck makes a perfect drive down the field to get the game winning touchdown with 0 seconds left on the clock. Incredible.
