As much as I love Boardwalk there's no way I'd put it over Sopranos. That show was pure perfection for five and half seasons.

I love the slow burn nature of Empire but sometimes it's too much of a slow burn. It needs to pick up the pace every now and then.

Yeah, that would SUCKKK if that happened to Boardwalk. I do remember hearing that it was picked up for another season, though.

Better than Sopranos though? I don't think so. I was never once bored with The Sopranos from season 1-5. Not one weak sub-plot, throughout those seasons. Boardwalk Empire is fantastic, but I'd be lying if I said it hasn't lost me a couple of times, with it's pacing.
It definitely has the potential to be. And I don't ever remember being bored with Boardwalk. The show pretty much puts me in a hypnotic state whenever I'm watching.

I wouldn't put it ahead of Breaking Bad, Deadwood, The Wire, or the first four seasons of Dexter either.
I still need to check out Breaking Bad, but honestly... I'd put it right up there with Deadwood. And it's WAY better than Dexter, IMO.

I'm a HUGE fan of the show, in case you couldn't tell.

Well, it certainly kicks the ever living shit out of the more recent Dexter. I'm really only sticking with it, because I'm pretty much obligated to see where it all ends up. If I'm being completely honest, Dexter pretty much sucks now. Those first four seasons(well, maybe not season 3), were intense as hell though, and really well put together.

As for Breaking Bad.....see it ASAP. You will NOT be disappointed, and will probably have a new favorite show. No hype. It's that fucking good. It's up on Netflix if you've got it.

And with good cause. It's a great show. One of the elites for sure.

I'm a fan overall, but I still haven't seen one episode of the most recent season. Hopefully I can avoid spoilers until I get a chance to see it.

That's what everyone tells me. Don't have Netflix, so I'm hoping AMC will put up past seasons On Demand. I don't see why the fuck they won't do it. I think they'll replay all the episodes when the rest of the most recent season gets ready to start back up, so I'll try and catch it then.
