It's because of the original that I'll be seeing this. I loved the character Leatherface, he's sick, twisted, and comes from a family that's even more so. And personally, I don't think he got enough screen time in the original, and the movies that followed sucked, ESPECIALLY TCM 2. So I guess I'm looking for closure from the character.

Trust me, whether you go see this or not, other people will, so why deprive yourself of Leatherface?

As much as I do like the past entries, I'm very much looking forward to this new film taking place right after the original. Really liking the trailers and such so far, things are looking bright.

I was going to say they all were great, but I feel that part 3 and the remake fall just a little short of that. Still very entertaining flicks though.

I agree, I love pretty much every movie. TCM was my initiation into horror and I have embraced every sequel, and even dig the remake (but especially love The Beginning).

I hated it when I first saw it. However, I have fabricated a theory about the movie that makes me enjoy it (and believe me, I hardly ever watch it, but I at least have learned to accept it). I watch it as more of a satire on horror films, particularly the TCM franchise. The acting is so atrocious and the entire picture so dysfunctional that it is almost impossible to embrace, so I pretend it was made that way on purpose to offer a sort of joke or commentary on the logic of horror films. I know this isn't what the filmmakers had in mind, but dammit it makes me feel better about it.

Good point. Wish I could look at it with that perspective. The only thing I could say that I remotely liked about the sequel was Matthew McConaughey's off the wall performance. I'll just stick with the other entries and continue to exclude that turd during TCM marathons.

the fact that they waited to release it until after Jerry Maguire so that Renee Zellweger's career didn't die doesn't say much about it either lol
