Is the quality of Texas Chainsaw really that offensive? Sure it's bad. Anything us horror fans haven't seen a billion times over? Nah.

I won't re-hash my thoughts too much, just go back and read some of the crap I wrote about it. I hate it... a lot. For a movie that was supposedly a sequel to one of the, if not THE, greatest horror films ever it was an embarrassing disaster in my opinions. Normally I wouldn't care so much about such a meh sequel, but they should have taken much better care of the material.

For a fairly big budgeted horror movie?? They shit the bed.

How many "up and coming horror directors" would orgasm at the idea of having 20 million to play with.

Better yet a fucking chimpanzee could have wrote a better script for 3D.

Fair enough, though some of the people in charge for writing the film were involved in Jason Goes to Hell and The Grudge 2. Expecting anything more than a complete piece of shit would be wishful thinking.

Did I say "meh" sequel? That's being kind!

But for realz, I know there are a lot of people who enjoyed it for what it is... I wish I could be one of them because I absolutely love the original film and most of the others in the franchise... Just couldn't get behind it at all

hey guys, I dont mean to be weiner, but you kinda have to just flush all expectations down the shitter when it comes to franchises these days. Actually I lied, I am being a weiner on purpose. But seriously, TCM, F13th, NOES, Halloween. Ya just have to accept the fact that theyre all gunna suck. Big business milkin the cows. If you compare them to the originals, they're gunna suck even more! That being said, I am back in action and intend to start perusing this site a bit more now. I have some catching up to do, really fell off the movie scene here past few years, and admittedly have no idea what TCM everyones complaining about. The remake with R lee ermy was cool. The one after that sucked ass. However:

The first Texas Chainsaw Massacre from 1974 is the best horror movie ever.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre is better than Halloween. It is better than Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, The Beyond, Argento's Inferno & Suspiria, NOTLD, Dawn, Day, all Hammer films, The Shining, The Omen, Jaws, any B&W Universal Horror, Nosferatu, any HP Lovecraft adaptions, my 3 faves from 2000's (Dead End, Monster Man, House of the Devil), and whatever else I may have missed in this incoherent, half-assed, rambling tirade.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre reigns supreme.

If you haven't had the opportunity, check out Tobe Hooper's second film from 1978 Eaten Alive. It is kinda silly in parts and cannot be taken seriously like TCM but its creepy and I love the lighting effects Hooper used with the fog and everything. Its all surreal and awesome kinda like suspiria or inferno.

but Texas Chainsaw Massacre still reigns supreme
