Is this and it's sequel worth a ten dollar a piece blind-buy?

I'd definitely get the first movie for $10. Maybe not the second.

I think you'll probably at least like the first.
The second is a little weaker (a retread of the 1st with a bit less gore), but still fun. Think something like an Italian RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD with an 80's metal soundtrack, set inside a movie theater (the sequel: same thing, but set in an apartment complex and an 80's Alt. rock soundtrack). Don't expect more than a good time, high energy, Italian gore, popcorn flick and you'll probably enjoy it. Stay away from anything listed under the DEMONS films after the 1st sequel though. Sometimes Soavi's THE CHURCH can be found under the DEMONS 3 name, and that's a good one, but it's not a sequel. It was originally envisioned as a sequel but it isn't. |

I'm pretty sure I saw Demons years ago, but I don't remember it. Rue Morgue was showing Demons 2 in a theatre across the street a couple of months ago, but having not seen/remembered seeing the first, I didn't go. Knowing that it wasn't a sequel, I did see The Church... meh. EDIT: I'm off to get the first one!

How can a film featuring the legendary Tony the Pimp (Bobby Rhodes) possibly be overrated!?

There is a part with kids cruising down the street doing cocaine out of a Coke can while listening to Billy Idol's "White Wedding". Fuck yes! Then one of the guys does Coke off a bitch's titty. Last edited by Death Bed; 10-13-2007 at 02:19 PM. |
