Has anyone ever read this? This might possibly be the saddest book I've ever read. About a soldier dealing with a horrific injury due to war. I think the video for Metallica's "One" has a bunch of clips from the film adaptation.

Nobody should read this 3 times in a week though, read something happy or at least a different book about sad shit.

This sounds like a book I'd get into. Next time I'm out trawling through second hand book stores I'll keep my eye open for it.

I love a bleak read.

Just got all the books in the Dark Tower series. So the next book that I will be reading will be The Gunslinger.

The Gunslinger is one of my all time favorites though
