Taking a break from the Wheel of Time series. It's brilliant but exhausting so I'm re-reading a bit lighter fantasy series I read back in high school.

A Prayer Before Dying by Stewart O'Nan

This book fucked me up. It's about a preacher/undertaker working in a mid 19th century town being overrun by a plague. It's outstandingly written, but the bleak ending has left me hollow inside for days.
