it's not dead by any means. it's just a close knit community. most of the people who post regular on here game together on a regular basis, opposed to having a huge population posting on games, where your voice generally isn't ever heard and it's filled with pointless threads all over on redundant subjects.

the smaller scale of this forum, in terms of sports and videogames is great. and I find the opinions of the posters who are here much more valid and valuable than anything I would find at the big gaming legacy.
