Does anyone else find it stupid that people thought the "Police Footage" at the end was real? Ive been told "Oh my god that bit was creppy as because its real" and i had to explain to them that it wasnt. That the movie was LOOSLEY based on Ed Gein.

The remake may have more gore but none of the original's impact & power-the bit where the girl commits suicide by gunshot in the van is terrible-you can even see the girl playing Pepper half laughing as well as screaming. The only really impressive one here is R Lee Ermey as the seedy sheriff.

I agree R. Lee Emry was one of the best parts in the whole movie. He is the whole reason I even watched TCM:The Beginning.

Upon a recent rewatch, I found out it isn't as great as I once perceived it to be. I still like it, nonetheless.
There's one scene I'll never get tired of re-watching, though. The scene in the van where Hoyt forces Morgan to reenact the girl's suicide. VERY tense moment.

I actually liked this remake. It had some tense moments. I agree too that R. Lee Ermery did make this film! He made the sheriff character extremely creepy! Of course this flick can't touch the original or the Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2. Still, it was a good flick!
