Default Wolfman (1941)

A great movie starring Lon Chaney Jr. as Lawrence Stewart "Larry" Talbot/the Wolfman. The movie was directed by George Waggner and followed by four sequels; Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man (1943), House of Frankenstein (1944), House of Dracula (1945) and Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein (194.

I really liked it, but my problem with it is it had no mystery or suspense to who the Wolf Man was. I felt it could have been better with some mystery.

Probably my favorite of the Universal monster movies. Great atmosphere, great acting, a true classic. You really started to feel for Larry and what was happening to him.

I just rewatched this last month.

It's well-made...but it takes a long time for him to finally transform and we have to hear that damn poem a thousand times!

Well, it's being remade as-we-speak with make-up that's fairly faithful to Jack Pierce's.

The remake takes place in Victorian England...the Chaney version was set in the 40s.

Really like this film and think it's unfairly overshadowed by Dracula etc.
