Taken from: http://daninreellife.wordpress.com/
"So what do Eli Roth and RZA have in common? No, Eli Roth isn’t a former member of the Wu-Tang Clan. Answer: They’re teaming up for The Man With The Iron Fist. Oh, and the project has been OK’d by Quentin Tarantino. So now that Eli has daddy’s permission, it looks like he’s actually going to attempt a martial arts film." I'm not sure if this has been discussed, the advanced search returned with no results. Eli Roth's hand in this project seems to be fairly unclear, a few sources cite that he will be directing much of this film and a handful of other sources cite him as merely the producer of the film. Eli Roth is a guilty pleasure of mine and I've always enjoyed RZA's work, so at the very least this film should be interesting (if ever developed). Good, bad or good-bad, it's a chopsocky film! The rumor seems to be fairly legit: http://www.firstshowing.net/2008/07/...the-iron-fist/ http://www.beyondhollywood.com/rza-i...the-iron-fist/ http://www.cinematical.com/2008/07/0...the-iron-fist/ http://daninreellife.wordpress.com/2...h-rza-kung-fu/ "Yes, it is true. RZA’s script is amazing. He has been studying directing with Tarantino for years. and he’s really ready to get behind the camera. His impact on rap music and hip hop culture cannot be measured, and he’s ready to add his own unique style and vision to the world of film. This movie will have everything martial arts fans could want, combined with RZA’s superb musical talent. This project has been his dream for years, and I’m thrilled to be a part of it. And fans should know that yes, there will be blood… This ain’t no PG-13."-- ![]() I don't know about you guys, but I'm hoping for an hour and a half of PANCAKES!

Sure thing. I'm way excited for a new age exploitive kung fu movie, even if a mediocre-at-best horror director is the driving force behind it. At it's very worst, it can't be worse than Rob Zombie's Tyrannosaurus Rex.

Just heard about this, evidently the movie's been greenlit with 20 million -
http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sourc...yh854pp7r_Uuxg I'll admit Eli Roth's films are average at best, but I still find them fun. Genuinely curious as to what Tarantino's role will be in terms of 'mentoring' RZA. I assume most on here could care less, as Eli Roth and hip hop in general don't have much of a following, but I for one am looking forward to what movie related potential RZA might have.

That's about right, hearing RZa speak in the first part cracked me up a little. Then he starts rhyming at the end of the trailer...ahahahahahahahahah, old school Wu-tang junkie stuff. ( I was a big fan) I'm surprised he didn't get one of his pals to do some lyrics...maybe he did ? How did Russell crowe sign up for this...I think they became chums while playing in American Gangster, but that wasn't Crowe's first movie with Denzel, buy ya a beer if you guess the first.
Rza been playing assassin's creed too much, or other weirdness; like wonderlust said, looks kinda fun |
