yeah in reality their newer releases are blackened death metal but their old albums were straight up polish black metal.

Although this is true for some of the one man black metal projects, look at bands like Burzum. There really isn't a lot of musicianship going on there.

I can't believe no one has mentioned Satyricon yet:



I don't like the direction they've taken lately, but Mother North is pretty much a perfect Black Metal song in my book.
