I know that Alien and Aliens are vastly different but that's good.

If you have a director that knows what they're doing and can take the story into a different direction but still maintain the essence of the original then why not

I just don't want it to turn into a shoot em' up. I'm all for getting a new director I guess, but I don't want the overall tone changed as much as Alien and Aliens.

I doubt it would be balls out action flick. The story doesn't really call for that at this stage. I would like some more Alien elements though.

I appreciate what they did with Prometheus but I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to see more Xeno action.

I'm pretty sure that shit was Xeno, just a different species of it. Different types of Xeno DNA.

Yeah like the Deacon at the end. I mean proper Xeno's like from the original films. They'll get there in the end if this story progresses.

While visually stunning, the science and physics were total crap and made it hard to enjoy.

Main example, the "C" was "so fragile" that the other ship brought it down, but then it's superstructure and own weight didn't cause it to burrow into the ground, or collapse under it's own weight. Instead it rolls and causes one of the most retarted "Whilley Coyote" like deaths I've ever seen.

I understand the criticism of the two idiot guys, but I'm astonished as to how many people are claiming those 20 second scenes ruined the whole movie for them.

I don't think it was a different species at all. The whole movie was about how and why we are here. I think what you saw was just a very primitive version of the traditional Alien. I think over time they would eventually evolve and become what we know them to be.
