I thought Dance Of The Dead was just average. Some good parts and the rest fell flat. Return Of The Living Dead is miles ahead of it.

Funny Games [1997]

I felt I should seek this one out as I'd seen the remake and quite liked it. I find both films more of a spectatorship study rather than entertainment - that's not to say I don't respect them highly - I just could never watch either again. It's really nice how Haneke plays around with both the conventions of cinema and also makes you question why we find film violence enjoyable. An interesting experiment, and even though the remake was pretty much a shot-for-shot copy, I have to say I think I prefer it to this one, mainly because I thought the performances were much stronger.

The Thing - always a great watch
The Horde - just when I thought I was zombied out! No light hearted, comedic moments, no quick one liners....this is dark - nothing, but violence, blood, zombies and guns. The scene on top of the car?!
