I would agree with that too. Seems like a lot of Eastwood's recent movies are leaning in that direction as well.

A classic all the way. I would go as far to say it is my favorite Coen Brothers movie. I still cannot believe it flopped on its original release. The movie-going public in '98 was so stupid.

Are you kidding me? This was the first time I ever watched it and I knew I was in for a shitfest after the opening scene and the camera zooms in thru the punisher's ninja turtle-esque sewer hideout to find the puisher kneeling there butt naked talking to god(it ends the same way too) then it zooms in on his goofy crossed eyed face. Dolph Lungren was terrible as the punisher. All his stupid one liners and half the time it looked like his beard was fucking painted on. I'm huge fan of the comics and that movie had nothing from any comic I have ever read. I don't remember him fighting the yukuza or living in a sewer ever. They changed his wife's name, instead of a son and a daughter he had two daughters, they got the name of they mafia family wrong, and he never once rocked his trademark skull. Besides all that it was a pretty low end cookie cutter 80s action movie that just happened to shit all over one of my favorite comic book characters.

Indeed. She literally carried that film. It's so rare to actually see an actor or actress really dominate a role like what she did in this film.

It was a very smart and strong horror film, that really doesn't have that lingering "I would of done that" scenario. It played it smart and it was everything Hostel should of been, and more.
