I can't stand Spike Lee.

Such a whiny hypocrite.

He lives in the past. Spike Lee has zero understanding of modern race relations.

This.

I've always found Spike Lee a massive douche because for such an advocate of black cinema he's curiously against films that empower his own race. Django basically creates a hero out of a black slave in the Antebellum South; Tarantino is creating empowering black characters if anything. As for the use of the word 'nigger' in his film, is Lee really so deluded that he doesn't believe the word was used this much, perhaps even two or three times as much, back then? Fuck him.

You can't create a children-friendly version of this era in history. Tarantino's dropping the audience into a world as it was, and you can only respect his bravery for that.

First day buy for sure. It felt its length at times, it also got pretty camp near the end, but highly entertaining, often hilarious and very bloody. Like Inglourious Basterds the casting was perfect. I don't think I have ever seen Leo having so much fun in a role. One of his best performances for sure.

If you thought the House of Blue Leaves scene was bloody, wait until you see the Candyland shoot-out.

Just don't go into it expecting Inglorious Basterds.

It has a similar feel to IB but it's an exploitation film through and through.

Couldn't have said it better myself, but the film never felt long.
