I dont see this happening. First of all, I dont think SK would allow it.Second of all, no one in hollywood will bother to hire Lohan anymore.

Considering how many horrible adaptations have happened with his books I doubt SK has much creative control over his movies. Or, he just has terrible decision making skills.

It's the former, not the latter. Especially with the earlier movies, if it got his stamp of approval, he usually had a cameo in it. I don't think he has much control in any of them. Some directors just choose to ask for his input.

Does King have any real say in this? Sure it's based off of his book (if it's more than just a rumor) but if the studio says it's remaking DePalma's film rather than doing an adaptation of King's book I'm not sure he'll even be involved. If he does have any say he needs to kill this idea ASAP. If by some grand misfortune this is made with this skank it'll be the first time something associated with King's works comes out and I have zero interest in it.

That's what I figured.

Although if you think about it, the greatest SK adaptations (Shining, Shawshank) he has no cameo. I guess it really depends. Maybe just in the horror side of it.

No where in the article did it say that the new movie would have Carrie being a former bombshell who lost her way and got haggard because of drugs and partying . In fact according to the article the new script is going to be even CLOSER to the original novel.

And if youre referring to that sequence of events to Lohans life, what does it matter? She's an actor. Sissy Spacek... wasnt an out of place girl that didnt fit anywhere. She was ya know....an actor? The same as Lohan. She just didnt happen to be so well known before Carrie.

The directors and casting people cant help it if you go into a movie with preconceived notions simply because of the persons personal experiences thats on you, not them.

I dont care who or why a person is cast, if they do a good job and the film is good, then ill enjoy it.

Directors and casting agents who don't want their movie to tank should definitely care what preconceived notions the audience might have. As many times as other directors and actors have said how awful it was to work with LL (she's late, she doesn't show up, she shows up looking like a hot mess, etc.), I can't imagine why anyone would still want to work with her. It's not just her personal life that has suffered. Her professional career is tarnished as well.

I think something we need to consider is that all we know is what we've been told by news and tabloids. If she is trying to ressurect her career she needs to start somewhere, correct? I mean RDJ had to do it, Charlie Sheen has to do it now.... did anyone ever take John Travolta in a Tarantino movie seriously?

I'm not defending her, but i don't believe anyone here has any real info on her and if thing is going to be what helps her back into being taken seriously, then so be it. Not that I think she is an amazing choice, but as I said earlier, it don't matter to me because the movie does not need to be remade.

I think it's a little early to assume it'll be a blockbuster.

The point being: one was TV movie, and one is "expected" to be released in theaters. That's all I meant (and I think you know that).
