Automaton Transfusion was literally one of the worst movies I've ever seen. It has nothing to do with being a low budget flick.. it was just seriously bad. I don't have high hopes for this remake. The original used to scare me as a kid, though, particularly that scene in the beginning when "Santa" kills the guy's parents.

Was there a Tales from the Crypt episode that had a killer Santa Claus in it? I remember that scaring the hell out of me, too.

Fuck Automaton Transfusion, I just watched the director's latest film The Aggression Scale and loved it. Hopefully Silent Night will be up to par with that project... only time will tell.

And so? Remake or not that episode kicked major ass and was far better (and scarier) than the segment in the 1972 film. Not that I don't love that film I just felt Zemeckis did a far better job executing the material.

I'll have to rewatch both, but I recall the remake's ending being a bit off and recall the acting in the orig being far superior.

There are a handful of Xmas-themed horror films in the works, but the one at the top of my list is A Cadaver Christmas.

I hope this turns out as great as the original. But with Malcolm McDowell in the cast, I dont know.
