Ok scabs and ghouls...
Here is another sub-genre favorite, Slashers! Here is a genre that thrived during late 70s right thru into the mid-late 80s. Then came back from the dead in the mid-90s and mid to late 00s.... My top picks: * Black Christmas (1974) * Friday The 13th Part 3 (1982) * Scream (1996) * My Bloody Valentine (1981) * Behind The Mask: The Rise Of Leslie Vernon (2006) * The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974) * A Nightmare On Elm Street (1984) * Saw (2004) * The Burning (1981) * Halloween (2007) * Psycho II (1983) * I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997) * Wrong Turn (2003) Honorable mention: The Prowler (1981), Bride Of Chucky (199 Thoughts? This is one sub-genre that seems to be making a come back or at least in the sense of the word. With the possibilty of Behind The Mask 2, Hatchet III, Scream 5, Halloween III & a new Texas Chain Saw Massacre 3 (3-D) among some upcoming releases such as Wrong Turn 4 & ChromeSkull: Laid To Rest 2 on the way, it seems that the slasher genre is slicing/dicing its way onto the screen (scream) once again! |

You listed all the great ones already, but I'll rework it, and replace the Halloween remake with the original since I'm not a fucking head-case like you.
I'll add: - High Tension (2003) - Madman (1982) Both personal faves of mine. High Tension may be unconventional, but it's beautifully directed, and Madman has nostalgic value to me, and really did creep me out a bit.

In terms of creative kills, I think DREAM MASTER takes the cake.

I'd definitely add Laid To Rest to my list. Really for the kills alone, heh.
