I just finally saw Midnight Meat Train and that’s pretty Lovecraftian, with secret monsters hiding under the city streets since before humanity, with human servants. I know that Clive Barker wrote it (the story it’s based on anyways) but it still is similar.

Mortagon, actually it was his father who had syphilis. It was also speculated that his mother had it too, which eventually led to her being institutionalized. But, as far as i know, there’s no real evidence that he had it.

His anti-social behavior, practically being a hermit, constant nightmares, belief that dreams are just as important an experience as waking life, his strange imagination, etc. Even though the reality of these stories can be debated, what do you think?

Mortagon, I’d actually be surprised if Dunwich is adapted. There are only really 2 key moments (Whateley breaking into the library and the whole ending) in the story and i think that the rest of it would be too slow (for film). Not to mention that the majority of the story is flashbacks.

You obviously don’t pay attention to the movies. And yes, it’s pretty pathetic to join a group just to try to get a rise out of them.

With new films like Piranha 3D, Machete, Repo Men, Clash of the Titans, Daybreakers, Valentines Day and even The Expendables and Resident Evil: Afterlife (which both have their fair share of high flying shootouts), do you think the “over the top” style may actually have a comeback?

I agree Mortagon, in terms of a faithful adaptation, it is the best and has a really good 1920′s style to it.

I think they had been planning it since since Bush’s first year in office, so i don’t know what held them back, i’m guessing financing. They can’t just tweak the plot a little and have it be in the Obama admin?
