As far as another Escape film, I think, if anything “Escape From Cleveland” would be awesome. Like a 3rd installment that actually happened between ‘Escape From NY’ & ‘Escape From LA.’

..However, they were all (Debra Hill, Kurt, John) trying really hard to make LA work.. If you notice, they replicated many elements, themes, & sentences with…[Read more]

I third that opinion, it’s the only way it would be any good. I actually do remember reading about that… The ‘Escape Trilogy’… A LONG TIME AGO. Perhaps you’re right about it being ‘Escape from the World’ however I recall it was “Escape From Detroit” …could be wrong but it sticks out in my mind.

Halloween is obviously the most iconic movie music he’s ever done. I suppose it’s just a little bit too obvious for me? Sad thing is, most people out there only know him for that 1 film & 1 character.

You know it’s a real Carpenter-Baby when it’s not only directed by the man but he does all the music as well (& usually writes it.)

I’m going to have to pick ‘Escape From New York’ as my choice. It just works on so many levels. Because even with the epic characters, rad 80′s setting, and deserted atmospheric genius: if his music was not…[Read more]

‘Big Trouble In Little China’ is & will always be my # 1 fav. Carpenter film.
    # 2 is ‘Escape from New York’
    & # 3 is “Halloween.”

Well, with ‘The Fog’ & ‘Halloween’ I’d just count of these films being pretty much garbage.

Well, I’d have to agree pretty much, his later films have definite decline in quality. ‘Ghosts’ was horrible. Ice Cube is horrible.
