Like a 3rd installment that actually happened between ‘Escape From NY’ & ‘Escape From LA.’
..However, they were all (Debra Hill, Kurt, John) trying really hard to make LA work.. If you notice, they replicated many elements, themes, & sentences with…[Read more]

I actually do remember reading about that… The ‘Escape Trilogy’… A LONG TIME AGO. Perhaps you’re right about it being ‘Escape from the World’ however I recall it was “Escape From Detroit” …could be wrong but it sticks out in my mind.

Sad thing is, most people out there only know him for that 1 film & 1 character.

I’m going to have to pick ‘Escape From New York’ as my choice. It just works on so many levels. Because even with the epic characters, rad 80′s setting, and deserted atmospheric genius: if his music was not…[Read more]

Now, I’ve got to make it clear first, that I’m a big fan of Carpenter’s work on the […] ViewWell, I’d have to agree pretty much, his later films have definite decline in quality. ‘Ghosts’ was horrible. Ice Cube is horrible.

Doesn’t matter which way you slice it JC’s Halloween will always top my list. Think about it where ever you are when anyone hears it you know what it is and it brings that slightly evil grin to your face.

Aside from ‘Halloween’, next to that, it’s got to be ‘Assault on Precinct 13′. An absolutely brilliant musical score:

I agree with slash, next to Halloween its Assault. I havent seen that in so long i didnt even know he did his music for that.
1. Halloween Theme (GREAT!)
2. The Thing Theme
3. In The Mouth of Madness
Does anyone know if he’s gonna score the movies he’s making now?
one not mentioned here is THE FOG.even the day scenes are ominous.
Simple powerful scores of The Thing and Prince of Darkness (and The Fog) just instill feelings of dread!
Assault too
The Thing is my fav score.
