VHS Horror Nostalgia April 1, 2010 9:03 amI still remember when my parents bought our first VCR. It was a Sony Betamax machine. Unfortunately, they made the wrong choice, because shortly after this purchase the newly emerging VHS format knocked Beta off the shelves. So I was limited to just a couple “mom & pop” video stores that still rented Beta tapes, until we finally purchased a VHS. I…[Read more]

although there’s bands that are way more satanic than slayer, they were one of the first to draw attention to the subject in the 80′s.i’d have to say my favorite album is ‘show no mercy’.even though the recording is crude, song for song it’s a great album.’black magic’ fading up in the beginning sets the mood like the beginning of a horror movie’s…[Read more]

-
Thats probably the best part of the film except the lovely geuesome deaths. I do however feel sorry for the dog!
-
would you buy meat from his store if you didnt know about the bodies in the back room …. or would he creep you out too much when hes playing his diranged altor-ego
-
Yes I probably would buy meat from him and both sides of him don’t bother me.

Hellraiser Appreciation Group!!! December 11, 2009 4:35 pmOne thing that I just absolutely love about the book was the description of Pinhead which goes something like…
“across his entire head was an intricate grid with a jeweled pin driven up to the hilt…” (not verbatim)
All I’m trying to say is that the book was utterly fantastic and would like to discuss it? Any interesting interpretations…[Read more]

‘The Hellbound Heart’ now seems something extra extraordinary and special because of where the franchise took the Pinhead character. In the book Pinhead (or Lead Cenobite) was ambiguous…an androgynous, perhaps even female, certainly not the major character but a servant of hell. The films downplayed the dark sexuality of the cenobites to an…[Read more]

Fantastic read. I read it during my time in college.

It’s been about ten years but I remember that too. Has anyone heard anything about when Scarlet Gospels is going to be released? I love Clive but he’s been a little flaky of late.

Tom Savini Fans October 12, 2009 3:52 pmI’ve met Tom twice at Fango, but this last time, he was acting like a bit of a prick.
It was towards the end of the convention in NYC and no one was stopping by his booth anymore, so I figured I’d swing by and ask him how his film production workshop was going. He just answered real briefly and turned away from me like I was somehow pestering…[Read more]

I have also met Tom many time he can be a real douche, but if you really get to know him he’s a cool guy. Most people won’t get the time to see this side of him, cause he’s a cock to most of the people he meets.
-
I love the guy’s work from around 20+ years ago, but who is he to be acting like a prick? Maybe that’s why there were so few people at his booth.
-
There is only one time i have seen him at a convention and he seemed pretty happy. while i was there someone asked him to crack a whip he had with him and he did. Iwas right next to him and i didn’t know he was going to crack the whip. he did and it scared the crap out of me

John Carpenter Fans September 1, 2009 6:09 pmSo Carpenter has been MIA for the past 8 years or so and his big comeback is a film entitled The Ward. So far all that is known, to me at least is that its a ghost story about a woman in a asylum and it will be released in 2010. Anyone else know anything about it?
-
All I know at the moment, is that Carpenter is filming it right now. He’s actually making a new film!
-
I’m not finding any updates for this but I’ll keep looking and post what I find. This is going to be great I can’t wait for a true Master of Horror to bring it all back to where it should be.
-
Amen to that, i cant wait for him to make his return.
-
it’s happening up near like spokane or idaho…was trying to research it on imdbpro….I was there’s a little casting company working on it up there…but pam dixon was casting the bigger roles

Silent Hill Fan Group August 29, 2009 1:13 pmTalk about your first time playing these games and why you love them so much.
I think I was about 15 or 16 when a good friend loaned me silent hill the original for PSone. I played it with my little brother by my side, he was like 11 or 12, and we were both pretty much scared shitless by this game, we played in the dark of course. And even though…[Read more]-
I got a used PS1 from a game shop in town that came with some free rentals. I originally grabbed RE2 but when it didn’t work they switched it for a copy of SH to see if it was the disc or the machine. Turns out it was the machine, but I played the hell out of the game. The elevator scene in the first one freaked me out.
-
I was maybe 14 or 15 and Silent Hill had just came out. My sister was the first to introduce me. She had rented it with her friend and they were freaked out! She said I should play it because I was good with puzzles and with fear. (thanks sis) HELL… I was terrified! I did well on the puzzles but the game itself was fucked up! (in a good way)…[Read more]

In the late 80′s a friend of mine at the time turned me on to them.I love that macabre sound.
the first time i heard and read the lyrics to ”skulls” i was contaminated with their essence! lol
i won’t lie though i do love michael graves stuff too, but after Only took over i am sickened by the downword spiral.
I heard ‘Mummy, Can i go out and kill tonight?’ and that was it-
